SEMINARIO DE FISICA TEORICA I Y II Titulo: Probing the strongly coupled N=4 plasma Conferenciante: Sergio Montero Modino (IFT-UAM/CSIC, Madrid) Dia y hora: 2, 14:15 (Aula 8B) Resumen: Studying the quark-gluon plasma created in heavy-ion collisions is quite a hard task; at the energies available it remains as a strongly coupled system. Recently, there has been much study within the AdS/CFT correspondence of plasmas that hopefully will grasp some of the features of the QGP. In this talk we will show how to study dynamical properties of these plasmas using the correspondence, computing dispersion relations for collective excitations and their contributions to the effect of given perturbations in it. Finally, we will propose a way to define a hydrodynamic timescale for the plasma evolution.
