Resumen:

 The observational methods to constrain the physical
             properties of dark energy will be presented. A
             particular emphasis will be devoted to large galaxy
             surveys, although other methods will also be considered.
             The current status on the constraints of the dark energy
             physics and the forecasts for the near and medium future
             will be reviewed.
