Titulo:         The ALICE experiment at the CERN LHC

Resumen:

The ALICE experiment at the LHC collider of CERN starts counting down 
expecting the start-up of the LHC which is planned for this summer. 
Although ALICE was optimised for heavy-ion physics, 
will participate in the first pp run with the aim to, not only
prepare and understand the apparatus for the upcoming heavy-ion runs, 
but also to contribute to genuine pp physics.

The physics objectives, the status of the apparatus and the 
computing challenges faced for the preparation of data taking
and physics analysis will be presented.
